Accident at work

An accident at work is a sudden incident causing injury and caused by external factors that occurred in connection with work.

An accident on the way to work or from work is a sudden incident caused by an external factor, which occurred on the way to or from work, if this route was the shortest or the most convenient regarding the connection and was not interrupted, unless this interruption was justified by important life reasons.

An employee who has an accident is obliged to immediately report this fact to his/her supervisor.

If you are a witness or participant of an accident at work or on the way to work or you have noticed a real danger to life or health in your workplace, you must immediately report this fact to your supervisor, who is obliged to take the action necessary to eliminate or reduce the life-threatening situation and provide first aid to people injured. After securing the place of accident, providing assistance, calling for medical assistance, the employee's superior reports the accident to the Health and Safety Inspectorate of the Jagiellonian University.
